Priti completed her Bachelors in History of Fine Arts from Stella Maris College, Chennai, 1992. She did a Diploma in Accessory Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi, in 1995. She was the winner of the De Beers Indian Jewellery Design Award 1996. She currently lives and works in Bangalore. She has been part of numerous national and international exhibitions;her solo shows have been Reliving the past with all my Might, Kashi Art Gallery, Kochi (2011)and ‘Four Times Five is Twelve’,The Viewing Room, Mumbai (2010). About her creative source Priti says “There is so much going on in the world around us, but at a fundamental level our inner self defines who we are. That is the boundary I am exploring, and trying to push. This inward journey doesn’t necessarily take one to the centre, but in fact illuminates the margins of our existence. In those margins lies the truth about us all. In my works, there is often a play between a child’s perspective on life – with all its innocence intact – and the more ‘grown-up’, ‘worldly-wise’ and cynical view of it.
