Priyank Gothwal works across media, moving between lens based and drawing mediums. Exploring the continuity between the concepts of time and being, his works examine the social, political and historical influences on the experiences of time and observe how progressive, linear historical order influences our everyday inhabitation of time. Hoping to conjure an alternative vision of time, Priyank’s works try to occupy an intermediary position between the possibilities of stills and moving images, between stasis and motion.

He is currently an independent researcher and a practicing artist, based in between Udaipur and Delhi, and part of a self initiated collaborative public project called first draft.

Priyank’s participation in recent exhibitions include to take a turtle for a walk, Mumbai (2019), An episode of plots (experiments with video) (2019) and Phantom limb, Delhi (2019) and many more. He has been a recipient of Inlaks Fine Art award (2018) and part of various residencies and grants including Generator– co-operative art production fund from Gallery Experimenter Kolkata, and Emerging artist award 2020: the extended support platform (FICA).
